Today we are picking up our hire car and driving to the marina where we start our boating trip. We're hiring the car for ten days even though we will most likely only use it about three times, but it turned out to be surprisingly cheap for the convenience factor.We walk back to the airport, which is where we are collecting the car, although it turns out that we actually get put in a bus and driven to a different place where all the hire companies seem to be physically located.
A Skoda Kamiq, a car of which we know absolutely nothing, but it should do the job.

It's not the biggest marina.
Somehow I've managed to develop some sort of strain in my back. I'm ok for driving but lifting anything is painful, so poor Amanda has to do the ferrying of our luggage from the car. There's a cart to use on the jetty, but the little truck that goes up and down the ramp behind is out of order, so she has to carry them down the stairs.
Oops, seems the fridge on our boat is not working, they need to bring in another.
This is more of a struggle than anticipated too, because it doesn't quite fit the space that the old one came out of. Much to-ing and fro-ing commences, finally resulting in them pulling the fridge out of another boat. You can't quite see in this picture, but if you zoom in on the original, you can see that the fridge they're putting in now is just a tiny bit shorter than the one behind that they had been trying to fit.
Our hire bikes have been delivered, too: they weren't there when this process began!
The new fridge is working, so we have some chilled fizz now. We could have set out this afternoon, but we're taking it easy so we'll spend the night at the marina and leave in the morning.
